This is indeed a sad day, especially for the victims who have paid their hard earned money for a break and are not covered by Atol or their credit cards. This brings me to one of my biggest gripes, deposits. These are supposed to be a security, an act of good faith, not money to allow businesses to trade. It is high time the government introduced legislation to ensure that deposits are ring fenced, placed in secure accounts so that it cannot be used for fund a business or by the creditors should the company cease to trade. The deposit, or act of good faith, should go both ways. Common, Mr Brown, do something right for a change.
